Consultative groups

Consultative groups play a very important part in the evaluation of the macroeconomic policy conducted in the country concerned as well as in the evaluation of the policy and results in respect of the fight against poverty.

In the Consultative groups consultations take place between the country concerned and the international donor community.

The meetings are also important for the donor coordination.

The role of the International and European Financial Affairs Administration

The IEFA Administration’s bilateral cooperation entity co-ordinates the Belgian involvement in the Consultative groups and participates itself if that seems to be expedient.

Consultative groups

The World Bank or a regional development bank organizes Consultative groups for a number of developing countries in order to evaluate the policy conducted in the countries concerned and the co-ordinated donor strategy in that respect.
