Intellectual property rights - EORI-number required for right-holders and representatives

Since 15 September 2020, the new Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1209 of 13 August 2020 has entered into force.

Starting on 15 September 2020, the following two elements will as a result change:

  • Each right-holder or representative, empowered to introduce an application for action or a request for extension is obliged to have an EORI number;
  • It is mandatory to use the new application and extension forms when you request action from customs on an infringement of intellectual property rights. The above-mentioned implementing regulation has also brought some changes to the application and extension forms.
