Submitting a request for the granting or renewal of entitlement to advance payments

Submitting a request for the granting or renewal of entitlement to advance payments

  • How can I request advance payments?

You do not have a file with the DAVO/SECAL yet?

Preferably fill out the web form for a request for intervention. We will then see if you meet the conditions for getting help with the recovery of maintenance allowance and for receiving advances on maintenance payments.

If you cannot fill it out online, you can also provide us with the paper request form. Please send the completed, dated and signed form (by yourself, your lawyer or your child's legal representative) to one of our DAVO/SECAL offices or hand it over personally.

The DAVO/SECAL has already accepted your request for intervention in the recovery of maintenance allowance?

As long as your case is pending and if you meet the conditions, you can ask for advances on maintenance payments at any time:

    • Preferably fill out the web form for the granting of advancesWe will then see if you meet the conditions.
    • If you cannot fill it out online, you can also provide us with the paper request form. Please send the completed, dated and signed form (by yourself, your lawyer or your child's legal representative) to one of our DAVO/SECAL offices or hand it over personally.
  • How can I request the extension of entitlement to advance payments?

Do you already receive advance payments for children under the age of majority? Then the entitlement to advance payments is automatically extended until your child reaches the age of 18 .

Do you already receive advance payments for children over the age of majority? Then we will send you a letter every six months inviting you to submit a new request. This way we can assess whether you still meet the conditions.

You can submit your request in two ways

    • Preferably fill out the web form as it is quick and easy.
    • You can also send us a paper request form. You will receive this paper form by post with the invitation to submit a new request. Send it completed, dated and signed to one of our info centres.
  • Which documents should I send with my request for granting or extending entitlement to advance payments?

You want to submit a request to receive or continue to receive advances on maintenance payments? As long as your children are under the age of majority, your first request is sufficient and you do not need to request an extension.

If your children are over the age of majority, you should send the following documents with your request:

    • a recent certificate proving that your child is entitled to child benefit
    • proof that your child is attending school or proof that your child is in the vocational development phase (also called the waiting period)
  • Who can help me fill out the request form?

Do you have questions about the request form or are you unable to fill it out? You can get help from our DAVO/SECAL offices or from a Public Centre for Social Welfare (OCMW/CPAS).

Do you want help from the FPS Finance?

Do not hesitate to contact one of our info centres, they all have their own DAVO/SECAL Intake Office.

Do you want help from a Public Centre for Social Welfare (OCMW/CPAS)?

If you cannot go to one of our info centres, you can also contact a Public Centre for Social Welfare in your region for help in filling out the request form.

  • What if I do not know the PIN code of my identity card?

Are you unable to fill out the web form because you do not know the PIN code of your identity card? There are three things you can do to submit a request for intervention without delay:

    1. You can request a new PIN on the Home Affairs website.
    2. You can visit one of our info centres, where we will process your request immediately.
    3. You can fill out the paper forms.
  • What can I do if I have a technical problem or a question about the content of the web form?
