The SFPI-FPIM is the federal public holding, which fulfils two functions:  on the one hand, the investment company and on the other hand, the holding company. The investments achieved within the framework of the holding company have been carried out in agreement with the authorities.

Developing its function as a holding company the SPFI can also acquire holdings in enterprises at the express request of the federal authorities. In that case these missions are delegated.
